GroupID 8 and above

Summary:

GroupID provides a pool bank of pre-defined security questions. The pool can be modified by adding or removing questions from it.

Each identity store in GroupID has its own local security questions pool. Admin users can add questions to a local pool from the GroupID pool bank.

Enrollment and Authentication via Security Questions:

GroupID provides multiple authentication types for multifactor authentication and second factor authentication. Security questions is one of them.

When an identity store is created, four questions from the question pool bank are automatically added to the new identity store’s local pool. Questions can be added and removed from the local pool.

To enroll in GroupID via security questions, identity store users have to select a specified number of questions from the local pool and provide answers. For authentication, users have to provide the same answers to the questions they enrolled with.

Configuration - Add a question to the local security questions pool:

  1. In GroupID Management Console, click the Identity Stores node.
  2. Right click your required identity store and select Properties.
  3. On the Identity Store Properties window, select the Configurations tab and click Security Questions in the left pane.
  4. Click the drop-down in the box next to the Add button. From the Question Pool list, select a security question and click Add.
    • To remove a question, select it from the Questions list and click Remove.
    • To remove all questions from the local pool, click Remove All.
  5. Click Apply and then OK.
