GroupID 8, 9 and 10 - Self-Service

Business Scenario:

Is there a way to hide the My Expired Groups link (or any other link) completely from the navigation bar in the Self-Service portal?

More Information:

The navigation bar in the Self-Service portal forms the main navigational component of the user interface. Use the links on the bar to navigate to different pages of the portal.

We can set an access level for each link on the navigation bar, which determines the user roles who can view that link on the bar.

In this article, we will hide the My Expired Groups link on the navigation bar.

Steps:

  1. In GroupID Management Console, select Self-Service > Portal > [Required portal] > Designs.

  2. Select an identity store to customize the portal template for it.
All identity stores linked with the portal are listed under Designs. You can design a different portal for each of these.

  3. Click the Navigation bar tab.

  4. From the Select Mode list, select a functionality mode. The sections on the navigation bar get listed under Tab.

  5. Select Groups and click Edit.

  6. The Edit Tab dialog box is displayed. The links available in the Groups section of the navigation bar are displayed in the Links area.

  7. Select My Expired Groups and click Edit.
The Edit Link dialog box is displayed.

  8. Select a security role in the Access Level list. The My Expired Groups link would be visible to users of this role and roles with a priority value higher than this role.
Select Never to hide the link from all users.

  9. Click OK to close the Edit Link and Edit Tab dialog boxes. On the toolbar, click Save.

  10. Log into the Self-Service portal or refresh it if you are already logged in to view the result.

The My Expired Groups link is not available in the Groups section.
