Self-Service Functionality Modes - An Introduction
GroupID Self-Service groups operations by functionality in five functional modes, so you can tailor the user experience by exposing only the functionality required. Mode-specific URLs determine which mode to launch the Self-Service portal in. Modes are:

The Update Wizard mode enables users to update their profile attributes in the wizard mode.
In the Phonebook mode, users can search the identity store for users and groups; modification is not allowed.
This is the default functionality mode of a portal when it is created. The Enterprise mode exposes all functionality of the Self-Service portal, such as searching the directory, updating personal information, managing groups and memberships, managing groups' life cycle, and controlling workflow requests.

This mode enables users to manage their groups and memberships. Users can also manage the workflow requests they have received for approval as well as the requests that they have sent. They can also customize different display options for the portal, which enables them to fine-tune the portal's appearance according to their preferences.

This functionality mode enables users to update their own profile. The profile information includes name, department, designation, contact information, and more. This mode does not support directory searches.
https://[Web server name]/[Portal name]/myprofile
This mode provides the same functionality as the My Profile mode but launches a wizard interface for users to update their profiles rather than My Profile's web interface. This mode does not support directory searches.

Users can search the directory and view information about directory users, groups, contacts and folders. This mode is read-only.

Setting the Functionality Mode:
To configure the functionality mode for a portal, follow these steps:
- In GroupID Management Console, select Self-Service > Portals > [Required portal] > Server.
- On the Functionality tab, select the option button for the required functionality mode.
- On the toolbar, click Save.
